With these activities becoming a part of daily routines, the kid’s clothes are seeing a lot of wear and tear, meaning your laundry schedule and tactics are in need of a change.

Grass

Whether they’re rough-housing, or simply sitting around for a picnic, grass stains are almost inevitable during outdoor playtime. Begin removal by soaking the clothing in cold water. Scrub thoroughly with water and an enzyme rich detergent.

Enzymes work to break down small particles within the stain, making them a great solution for tough stains. If the stain persists, try dabbing with rubbing alcohol and rinsing. Then wash as normal.

Sweet Treats

While we may recommend letting the kids eat their cold treats in their bathing suits or even shirtless for a less-messy dessert time, a chocolatey shirt is not unsalvageable!

As soon as possible, use cold water to spot treat the area. Then, soak in water and that same enzyme-rich detergent, and the stain should lift right out!

BBQ Foods

Your favorite hot dog and burger toppings have a funny way of running all down your front. Keep their clothes from looking like an abstract work of art and sponge a ketchup stain with white vinegar. If you prefer mustard on your shirt — or hot dog, pre-treat the area with a stain remover before washing in hot water.

Adult Spills

The parents are not completely immune from stains, we’re all human! Get that red wine stain out by blotting it, sprinkling with salt, and rinsing with hot water. Then throw it in the wash for a strong finish.
